Aston Martin GT4 Challenge winner Andrew Jarman collected his prize silverware at the annual Aston Martin Awards Ceremony held at Aston Martin Lagonda’s VIP Centre, Gaydon.
Invited guests from the Aston Martin family including sponsors, suppliers, teams and drivers, enjoyed an exclusive evening at the Aston Martin HQ in Gaydon, hosted by Chairman of Aston Martin, David Richard who was on hand to present the awards.
2013 has been a landmark season for the Milton Keynes racer as he made the switch to GT Racing after three seasons in single seater’s [Formula Renault] and clinched the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge title at his first attempt, driving for the Stratton Motorsport Team.
With support from local Milton Keynes sponsors TXM Recruit, TXM Plant, Raildoor Solutions and Albatros UK, the season started off perfectly for Jarman with victory at the opening round at Silverstone and during the 7 round series he went on to take 3 more victories including a popular win at the famous Spa Francorchamps circuit.
Only once this season did Jarman finished off the podium with a 5th place at Brands Hatch, but he soon bounced back and the following day took 2nd place at the one off Aston Martin’s Centenary Festival Race on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, collecting his trophy from ex-F1 driver and nephew of Andrew’s racing hero, Bruno Senna.
Global Challenge Award:
Topping off a superb season, there was one last piece of silverware to add the collection as Jarman picked up 3rd overall in the Aston Martin Global Challenge, a combined global championship of over 200 drivers, open to any driver racing an Aston Martin in any major championship around the world.
Ahead of Jarman in the Global Challenge was newly crowned British GT Champion Andrew Howard and Asia Le-Man’s winner and Asia GT Series vice-champion Frank YU, giving an indication of the quality of competition in the Global Challenge.
As the 2013 season draws to a close, Jarman is now focused on next season and hopes winning the 2013 Aston Martin GT4 Challenge will help to attract the support he needs to progress his career with the target of winning the 2014 British GT Championship, a series widely recognised as the one of most competitive GT series in the world, offering live TV coverage and capacity crowds.
